Speaking in Tongues
Conceived from the triumvirate of materiality, locality and the subconscious, the limited-edition works of Laura Kirar support the idea of objects as both non-functional and functional, art and design, sculpture and furniture, through an expression of familiar and surreal forms. Having a deep spiritual and physical connection to Mexico, Kirar creates a new volumetric language in union with artisans of various craft practices, utilizing ancient materials and techniques to express her contemporary work.

Corazón Espejo
This unique creation crafted in Michoacán showcases a heart-shaped form, expertly designed to capture the essence of passion. Handcrafted with precision and care, this art piece not only embodies exceptional craftsmanship but also radiates a sense of warmth and elegance.

Memoria Etagere
A sculptural composition defined by richly worked materials and intricate surface detail. The piece features hand-hammered copper over bowed cedar wood doors, paired with bronze and bronze glass shelves. Its expressive metalwork transforms the functional form of an etagere into a highly tactile collectable design.

Milpa Cocktail & Landscape Tapestry
The Milpa Cocktail table brings together cast bronze with a scribed texture, blue, black and gold straw marquetry, and tempered glass, creating a composition where material, pattern and craftsmanship become inseparable.

Luna Mobile
A sculptural mobile composed of blackened or natural copper plate, Luna explores movement, balance and changing form. A motor animates the suspended composition, while two spot lamps introduce light as an integral element of the piece, allowing its overlapping forms and shadows to continually shift within the surrounding space.
