Hacienda Subin

Laura is in the midst of restoring Hacienda Subin, a 17th-century henequen plantation outside of Mérida, Yucatán. Laura first started by building a pool and a two-bedroom pool house; to stay there while the main buildings were renovated, a 1730s house and an 1890s former sisal factory that will hold in the future a gallery and performance space.

Mesón Hidalgo

Like so much of art, history, and life, Mesón Hidalgo began not with a plan, but with a discovery. And a woman in love. Laura Kirar was leaving the city of San Miguel de Allende for another when she stepped, by chance, through the doors of a centuries-old manor house off Calle Hidalgo and, utterly enchanted, into an entirely different story.
